Woop woop! I killed it with the glock tonight! One of my fellow female classmates suggested to me thati may be over "fingering" the glock. I repositioned as she suggested and I rock!!!

Great news! Not many women have a problem with TOO much finger on the trigger with the Glock. The grip is so fat, many can barely reach the trigger at all. But, if you do happen to be blessed with long fingers (like me) it sure will make you pull your shots off to the side. Just the pad of the finger on the trigger, and no more.

One other thing I have noticed that you might watch for - since the Glock is so light, much of the weight is in the magazine. As you shoot, the magazine empties, and it becomes lighter, your shots tend to go higher and higher. Just concentrate on controlling the muzzle flip, and you will be fine.

Can't wait to hear your range report on Friday! You will be in awe over the DPS range. Shoot good, and do us proud!

I have much more confidence in myself now. I don't have the issue with too high of shot with the glock I am always too low but tonight I only shot low when I forgot about the finger position. I have gotten such great advice!

I am excited to see the range I have heard so much about it I am sure I will be sad to go home to my shooting berm after I leave. :-) Can't wait till Friday too. I hate anticipation.

You will do fine! If you like mountains, you will like the berms at the DPS range :

How many women are in your class? There were only two in mine. The RSO behind me gripped my shoulders just before the last rounds at 15 yards with the semi-automatic and said "You got'em now, Annie Oakley!" Just be ready for some such. It was encouraging, but it may have also been a test to see if I would turn and lase someone with my muzzle. I was so busy ignoring the brass constantly thunking me in the side of the head from the shooter on my left I hardly noticed, "rlol"
Make sure your eye protection covers the sides of your face, your hat brim is low enough, and your collar buttoned up.

How hard is the test I am taking tomorrow? Should I be stressing tonight and studying or will I pass if I paid attention in class? As you can tell I am a stress-er.

Piece of cake (well, 100 pieces of cake. LOL) You will do fine. If you listened in class, then you will have no problem at all. :thumbs2:

don't try to over analyze the questions--just read them & answer them with your first answer--it was the people who tried to read something into the questions that had problems. I think we had 8 people in our class score perfect scores(yes)

If you paid attention in the class, you are good

So got a 97 on the test would have got a 98 if I had taken Mary's advice and not over analyzed. Changed one of my answers and then got it wrong. SO excited to pass my shooting test in the am on the first try!!! :woohoo

I am so upset I did not pass the revolver twice. I am going to go home and come back another day.

Yes but I suck uner pressure. I had mostly been practicing with the glock because I was most worried about it.

Sorry to hear that. Send our moderator Longtooth a PM. He is an instructor in Lufkin. Maybe you guys could get together and he could give you some coaching on double-action revolvers.
