It is as old as human nature, with a version of that story going back to Aesop's Fables called "The Farmer and the Viper". "It has the moral that kindness to the evil will be met by betrayal and is the source of the idiom 'to nourish a viper in one's bosom'." Alternatively, "you knew I was a scorpion; it is in my nature".
RACIST!!

OK....I think I've got it out of my system now.

Strike out all that "militia" part that anti's hang their hat on when they think American citizens should not keep and bear arms.

Sheesh. Rant off.

You see, in their view it was clear. The issue is "militia" and the average person's view of what that means. In the 1700's the militia was everybody able to fight! It wasn't some formal group that you had to join, then train with like the army. It was every, able bodied person who could fight. Given that context, it's very clear that they're talking about an individual's right and then they qualified it with the main reason, the militia.

Im a bit fuzzy on how an SR moves thru the senate, but this cybersecurity bill passed to some additional level of consideration by an 84-11 vote. I am CERTAIN there arent that many senators that are eager to end their political careers, so why did this fly through on such a strong vote?

I just ordered 10 new Pmags from Brownells. My dad and my Granddad both want me to build them an AR-15 in the next couple of weeks. Sometimes I wonder if i should thank the Dems for proposing gun control legislation.

He obviously is unaware that the SCOTUS has put this argument to bed long ago.
Don't get in too much of a hurry, according to Antonin Scalia, (a Reagan appointee) the door is still open for gun-control legislation.
