Beyond a handful of members knowing me personally, I don't presume to be anonymous. If somebody really wanted to find out who I am, the powers of the internet could help them do it.

A lot of news sites were having trouble with the comments section and turned them off until Facebook created away to allow comments that show the users real name. It seems to have brought the vitriol down 1% or so. . . but it's still within the margin of error. The advantage is probably that if you ban somebody, they're less likely to create an entire new FB account just to try to comment again. Their online life is probably centered around that ID and profile.
