A SmartCarry pretty much points the muzzle of your carry gun at your opposite-leg femoral artery. Carrying on the hip at three-o'clock potentially endangers only one small artery, if that.

:tiphat: Point well taken. Excellent reference. I will agree that if some catastrophic happened, I would prefer it be while wearing a regular IWB or OWB rig. While I do not wear it often, I have never felt uncomfortable (safety-wise) with the Smart Carry on... maybe I should have.

Has anyone tried those Woolrich Elite Concealed Carry Chinos? Good for women too?

I don't see much point in carrying deeper than IWB. As it is, my draw from IWB is slower than a draw from OWB, but I can still draw "acceptably" quickly. If I need to draw, I don't want to be rooting around down in the front of my pants trying to find the handgun.

When I am carrying my 5" Govt 1911 IWB, that is acceptably concealed. I see no need to go smaller or more hidden.
For some of us, our work attire doesn't allow us to use a conventional belt holster. For example, I wear scrubs to work most days. While my situation currently isn't such that I can legally carry, I'll soon be moving to a state where I can legally conceal at work. As such, I'm currently looking at unconventional carry methods.

I ordered a KK and rec'd it in two days. Works great. I was looking for a carry method when wearing overalls. The smart carry bumping the junk every step ain't workin'.

I've got a Kangaroo carry and it is pretty comfortable. I've usually got it adjusted for deep concealment which places my gun right in my armpit. With a fairly comfortable fitting shirt (somewhat loose) it doesn't print at all.
