I have run into a group of them at lunch off of Hwy 290 in NW Houston a few times. Maybe because it near the big DPS office out there??

Anyway, I don't recall them all being 6'6" and bullet proof. I do know that they generally wear khaki's or slacks, crisp white shirts, ties, jackets, and take their hats of like gentlemen when inside the restaurant.

Last time I saw them, there were six or so of them together. I sat at a table so that three of the Rangers were to my left. I can share the the pistols they had were indeed very nice. Don't know if I'd say they were "barbecue", but the couple I saw we're engraved 1911's, and smartly finished out. Holsters were nice as well....no kydex for sure.

As a Texan, I'm proud of those men and women.
