I'm surprised you didn't try to tell us that he "mis-spoke".
Some members here simply cannot conceive of there being persons who are moderate in anything at all. On both sides only extremists are recognized. Is there any way that someone like me can say something here which will not lead to at least one personal insult?
Here we have another example of talking to an audience which listens only because they want to hear what is being said. Or, if you will, saying nothing that one does not know in advance that his audience wants to hear. Has anything new been added to the great mass of repetitive chatter?
As a matter of courtesy, I have very carefully avoided using the word "you" in this post.
I am reminded of the time I once observed that I was a member of both the NRA and the ACLU. Some members apparently found that hard to believe. I really believed that the NRA was an organization for hunters and sportsmen. Eventually I too found it hard to believe that I belonged to both organizations. The uncompromising extremism of the NRA, and Wayne LaPierre in particular, as demonstrated and confirmed by his latest speech insulting my intelligence, terminated that joint membership after only one year. The NRA has become, instead, in my opinion, a very profitable and effective lobbyist for gun manufacturers.

further I asked if Mr Cobarruvias was speaking as a NASA Representative? and if not, what is NASA's position on murdering those with an opposing view?

In this thread... Why yes, I do believe I have posted content that is not part of any "repetitive chatter"
And I for one am personally insulted...
No not really...
I do find it Interesting that you imply some (much?) of what others say too not meet your personal level for what is meaningful or that it is just "repetitive chatter"... well, that's an opinion of course,, just not one I share. That said I feel no animosity toward you in reference to that personal position.
In general, the group here discusses topics without personal insult...though not always the case.

I am embarrassed, Marquez. You are a clear exception to my broad statements above, and there are other exceptions who merit mention too -- in general, of course. I would not want to tar them with my brush.
I apologize to you and the others. General statements such as I made above are one of the disturbing aspects of this forum. Perhaps it is just guilt by association, but I know better, and I know how to behave better. Sometimes I forget. That is not an excuse, it is a reason. There is no excuse for such sloppy writing and thinking.
Again, my apologies.

Cobaruvvias's "heartfelt" apology after deleting the NRA death-threat tweet:

At least you've finally admitted to being seduced by a delusion. I'll call that progress.

You know one of the things I'm glad I learned as a Sergeant? That you should say what you believe about something in an open manner, and not try to cover it all up in flowery language. The Second Amendment isn't about sportsmen and hunters. I've read enough of what the Founding Fathers said to understand that much about it. I'm not a debater. I don't have a great grasp of rhetoric. And I don't like people trying to reach around my back and stick a knife in it any more than I want them walking up and shooting me to my face. I'm just a mechanic who did the best job he could to keep airplanes flying to get the mission done and to take care of the folks that were placed in my charge...and anyone who wants to soft-pedal people calling for me to be shot makes me as mad as the person wanting to shoot me because even though I'm the furthest thing from a hero, I think I've at least earned the right to MY PROPERTY and to not have it taken by some gun-grabbing politician for some crime I DIDN'T COMMIT!

Anyone who voted for Obama is not a moderate. He's the most radical Marxist president this country has ever had.

You're entitled to your opinion, but the fact is that less than 15% of the NRA's money comes from the gun industry (about $34 million). Even if you take the ridiculous estimates of the antigunners, the maximum is 27%.
