"After the two brothers engaged in a gun battle with police early Friday, authorities found many unexploded homemade bombs at the scene, along with more than 250 rounds of ammunition.

Police Commissioner Ed Davis said the stockpile was "as dangerous as it gets in urban policing."
"We have reason to believe, based upon the evidence that was found at that scene - the explosions, the explosive ordnance that was unexploded and the firepower that they had - that they were going to attack other individuals. That's my belief at this point." Davis told CBS's "Face the Nation."

Obviously, this is only one North-Eastern Liberal city's notion of how much ammunition two people should have in their home... granted terrorists planning to kill Americans, but from the verbiage enough to be viewed beyond the norm for gun owners. Just a glimpse into the minds of law enforcement ?
Read in context, I think the chief was speaking about the unexploded ordnance rather than the 250 rounds which is hardly exciting.

In these days of ammo shortages, most of us would call 250 rounds under prepared and almost out for lawful gun owners.
I was going to say the same thing and saw your post so decided to simply post... :iagree:

Right.

Before ammo cost went through the roof, my average practice ranged from 250 - 500 rounds per session.

Now, I limit it to 50 every so often, rather than a minimum of every month.

Oh, man. I have a 300 Win Mag. If I wanted 5000 rounds for that, I'd have to take out a home equity loan!
That's no lie. I bought a box of Barnes Vor-TX not to long ago, I believe the price was $46.00. I did get lucky and buy up a bunch of Prvi from Midway awhile back for $14.99 a box. While it's not 5000 rounds, I feel adequately supplied with my 500 rounds.
