That artical is from two years ago, not last week.

Yep, April 2005 - when the shooter would have been a sophomore. In the newspaper in the same town a few miles away where he bought the Glock a few weeks ago. So he was likely following the "gun free zone" thing for quite some time. And evidently obtained some chains for the inside of the doors to slow the response from the outside ...

Aren't there fire laws that make it illegal to chain doors shut?
