I think Ninfa's starting going downhill when the family lost the business in the bankruptcy.Redneck_Buddha wrote:El Tiempo is a very good cantina in the Ninfa's family. Heck we don't have Mexican food here for the most part. It's Tex-Mex not Mexican and considering the differences in regional food in Mexico any attempt to have some universal food type that claims the whole country is pretty off. Good restaurants serve the traditional Tex-Mex dishes and a few regional specialties but I will agree it's hard to find good Mexican restaurants up North. Considering how many immigrants from Mexico there are everywhere I blame the uneducated eaters more than the restaurants.MotherBear wrote:Worst Mexican food I ever had was a place called Tortilla Coast in D.C. We were there on our honeymoon and my husband felt like Mexican for lunch. I wasn't really enthusiastic because I couldn't imagine they'd do Mexican food as well as we do it down here, and the name had me even more suspicious. I tried suggesting a couple of Asian places instead. But we went for Mexican, and it was... well, memorable anyway. They gave us something they called salsa, but other than being red and tomato-based I'm confused as to the connection. No zip at all. There were tortilla chips, and tortillas. But otherwise it was pretty much a bust. Not awful food, but definitely not Mexican food.bizarrenormality wrote:It sounds like you're lucky enough not to eat at Pappasitos or Cadillac Bar yet.03Lightningrocks wrote:Absolutely the worse Mexican food available in the world today.
