Someone mentioned "pennying" the door earlier. As I have quite a bit of, ahem, experience in this subject from my college dorm days, I thought I'd elaborate.

Basically, if the door opens opposite of the side you want to "block" from (as is your case), you can get a stack of 4-6 pennies (maybe more or less, just have to test), PUSH hard on the door (in your case, from the inside out) and put the pennies in the gap that is created between the door and the doorframe (at eye level seemed to work best). What this does is place pressure on the opening mechanism of the door, preventing it from opening easily (if at all) from the other side. You can "unpenny" the door by knocking them out (may require some sort of tool, which can be nearly anything).

While I wouldn't want to lock my house this way or anything, it does work, and would at least slow down someone attempting to gain entrance.
