EXCELLENT addition to the site!
Since you're beta testing, and have requested all feedback, I offer the two items for your consideration:
- In the 'original' site, under each listing you show a link for 'Map this Location'. Once this new map leaves beta, I recommend that the links all go to THIS map, rather than to where they go now.
- In the new map, you can click on a pin, and it gives some info. Once it leaves beta, I recommend that this popup info includes a link to all the comments available on the other 'primary' page. For instance, if you select the Wells Fargo at 1160 Dairy Ashford in Houston, you see on the map that it is invalid, but you don't get the benefit of all the commentary. On the 'original' site, you can see several comments, including a picture of the invalid sign that contains the Article 4413 (29ee) language. Since this info is readily available on the database, it will enable the 'map' user to see it much easier, without toggling back to the 'original' site.
Neither of these is meant to be a criticism of what you've done. I'm only suggesting two ways to create dynamic linkages between the original 'list' version and the new 'map' version of the data, empowering the user even more.
Good stuff!!!!!

This is fantastic! Excellent work!
I would second having a hyperlink to the entry page of the main site so that I can "click" on a location and see the full entry and comments.
This is a really great addition! Kudos!

If so, then I'm guessing (and if wrong please correct me) you're going to have a lot of locations posted that aren't truly 30.06 listed.
Business who simply post a "No guns" signs are everywhere and can be ignored by those with a CHL.
I got a photo and now there 2 signs, the first for zero policy and the second is a correct worded 30.06 sign printed on letter page. (non-compliant)
I will post the photos soon.

Could you provide me with the business name and city so I can investigate?
The "Chuck E Cheese restaurant tab in Longview is not in the correct spot. It's about 4-5 miles off. Other than that I really like the map.

Fantastic work, Russell! The map works on both my phone (stock android browser) & my table (chrome). Can't wait to see the full integration.

Perhaps, I'm missing something, but shouldn't the 30.06 signage have to be totally proper/legally enforceable to be on this list...?
I'm not interested in business's that post non-enforceable anti-gun signage.
They're are a dime a dozen...and completely ignorable.

Great app Russell. On the I-Phone having a hard time making the map large enough to read.
Not sure if its me or not.

Russell,
Thanks for the explanation, but just to clarifying a bit further (I'm a little slow at times): No gun buster signs or their equivalent will show up on the map, right?
But, only those that may be a little short of the real McCoy i.e., perhaps 1/2 size lettering, but both using the proper English/Spanish wording, etc.
Recently, my wife saw a 30.06 sign posted (with scotch tape) on the glass door of a business that looked like a miniature of the real thing. I think it might qualify to go on your map?
Thanks!

Site should have a way for users to delete or change postings. an example is the Chili's in Beaumont that shows a 51% sign and after a member of the texas 30.06 site asked about it, the management staff actually took the time and put forth the effort to get the signage corrected. The business is now in compliance yet Texas 30.06 still shows them as 51% when they are not 51%.

Worked great on Safari. One misplaced pin location where I looked but that is not a big issue.
Oh, I also noticed a pin located in a hotel that I was to be visiting in March. Odd, how plans can change ;)
