I in no way mean to be disrespectful, but good luck with that. If you get a line on sub-$800 .308 rifles that are safe to shoot, let me know. I'd like one too. But having owned a couple, The cheapest I've ever seen one is in the mid-$900 range, and it was a well-used plain jane AR10.

Wow. At that price, can they be very good? Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question.... At that price, beggars can't be choosers?

I have no idea, TAM. I am under the impression that PSA is pretty well though of, or do I have that wrong?

I just built my .308 on the Palmetto PA-10 upper and lower. It has so far been a flawless performer.
The two in the post appear to be identical wit the exception of the more expensive one has a rear sight included.
I would not hesitate on a Palmetto product.
And keep in mind, just like it's little brother, if you don't like the way it looks today, you can get parts to change it.

PBratton appears to have answered the question. I just had no idea that you could get one so cheap.

I bought my .308 VEPR for $600+ shipping & have seen them for less than that, but after the Russian sanctions they became tougher to find.

A friend of mine just got a Palmetto AR10. I'll relay his opinion of it as soon as I get some feedback from him. Hopefully I'll get to shoot it.

I've got a Bushmaster. Nothing fancy I just use it to hunt but it's accurate enough out to 400 yards that I'm confident.
