Yes actually. Not going along with shutting down the government in this manner doesn't make him a liberal. It just makes sure he's not suicidal.
I see the No True Scotsman argument is in fact being applied here.

BTW, what you consider "suicidal" is what I consider "standing on principal". Cruz seems to do that much better than Cornyn.

While I'm OK with him running for president, I think it's too soon and will not succeed.
But in the meantime, we sent him to DC to do a job.

If he were my employee, he would be gone by now. I have fired more than one employee that I really liked, because they were not doing the job. Especially if he was out looking for his next job instead of doing the one I pay him for now.
