Amazingly, he and Cornyn voted alike on all but two issues. I think that's a first! One has to wonder, is he working with Cornyn now because he needs his support in the presidential bid?
Probably the opposite.....Cornyn knows that Cruz is showing him to be the Rockefeller Republican that he is. Cornyn needs some conservative cred before people start noticing....
Not getting where you're getting that. Cornyn has been historically been one of the most conservative members in Congress based on his votes. if you're No True Scotsmanning
him then thats a problem.

Overall, Senator John Cornyn has a moderate record when it comes to immigration reform.

Washington (CNN)—Republicans will still try to block President Barack Obama from implementing his immigration overhaul -- but they won't risk funding for the Department of Homeland Security to do it, Sen. John Cornyn says.

The top two Republicans in the Senate made clear Monday they will not join Cruz's call for a filibuster of a government funding bill that cleared the House last week. Their decisions signaled that the fiery freshman's plan isn't good politics even for Republicans facing conservative primary threats and reinforced a widely held view that it won't work in practice.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for.

Yes actually. Not going along with shutting down the government in this manner doesn't make him a liberal. It just makes sure he's not suicidal.
I see the No True Scotsman argument is in fact being applied here.

Here's ten more....the rest I'll let you Google.....after you show me why you think Cornyn is the conservative superior to Ted Cruz.
BTW, what you consider "suicidal" is what I consider "standing on principal". Cruz seems to do that much better than Cornyn.

I'm not the only one noticing Ted's absence.

While I'm OK with him running for president, I think it's too soon and will not succeed.
But in the meantime, we sent him to DC to do a job.
If he were my employee, he would be gone by now. I have fired more than one employee that I really liked, because they were not doing the job. Especially if he was out looking for his next job instead of doing the one I pay him for now.
just sayin'.
