One other warning in case you didn't know it, don't spray your dogs with repellent like "Off" which contains "Deet" as this apparently is neurotoxic to dogs and cats. Also make sure you do give your dogs heartworm pills as they get heartworms from mosquito "bites". Those are some of the nastiest insects God put on this world. Chiggers are terrible but West Nile can kill you. In my area the Deep Wood Off is all sold out which is 25% Deet. Regular Off is available at Sams yesterday which I believe is 15% Deet. Deep Wood has always been the best repellent and all we can hope for otherwise is an early freeze.

It says that for best results you need to run it 24/7 for until the cycle is broken. The tank lasts for 21 days according to the manual.

It makes sense, but the trap also needs electricity, I believe to run the fan that sucks in the insects.

They recommend that the power cord be buried underground.

Also, the CO2 doesn't due all of the work.

They have something called Lurex that is an attractant. This is recommended for Texas.

This canister is changed everytime the Propane Tank is changed.

According to the MSDS the attractant is Latic Acid!

Maybe AndyC can add some to his Dr. Pepper bottle.

Probably all you need to know. I got an education today.
I ran the power cord next to the flowerbed border to keep folks from tripping over it.

The electric power is required for the ignition system for the propane burner as well.

Part of the maintenance I had to do is you use CO2 cartridges on a special attachment thingy to blow out the combustion chamber. Highly technical.

21 days on the propane. Nice to know.
