It's inaccurate to say that no one has considered that. It's frequently discussed here and on other gun forums, mostly when discussing why gun show promoters post 30.06 signs and ban concealed carry.
Many business owners have posted their "consideration" of this issue, and concluded that it's bunk.
As a small business co-owner (and employer), I can state with absolute certainty that my insurance policy does not mention firearms. They're concerned with fire exits, smooth walkways, professional competence, etc., but no mention of guns. At all. Period. And we didn't have to shop policies to find this carrier; none of the prospective insurers mentioned guns in the workplace, whether by employees or customers.

I was not actually referring to small business; they are not the ones funding the opposition. Insurance companies don't direct their legislative efforts at small companies because they don't have the access to political leaders that, say an airline or refinery would have. To be honest it was not my intention to refer to insurance policies at all. I was referring to the political paling around that goes on in that special club.
Even if I'm wrong, I still believe to win any battle you must know who ALL the players are and WHY they are playing.
consider these questions? Why are large corps spending political influence and donations on the issue? Guns in the truck affect production? Operating costs? Customer relations? Some where, some one is telling them something that makes them believe firearms in an employee's trunk is going to cost them. I believe we need to figure out who and what and go directly at that influence.
PS Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations.

It is law firms and risk-management consultants. I posted a link to one of them earlier in this thread.

You present a great position and question on this issue...
And I'll tell you this...You already know the answer...

I don't think the General was carrying but his security team usually is. I was carrying my M&P9c in a CTAC holster and my 642 .38 spl J Frame in a Mika pocket holster.
Let's just say that I wasn't planning on meeting the General that day.

I am not sure I want to be on a naked security team.
I am glad you were. Hope he was. Wish they had been.
