TX: People and pets being shot with BB guns at Sienna Plantation

Looks like they may have been caught. At a minimum, heat is still being applied. I suspect most kids are fairly easy to get to talk.

• Aug. 19: A male victim was riding a bicycle and was struck by a BB or pellet in the leg.
• Aug. 22: Perpetrators threatened a young male victim with the gun, and shot three times in the air.
• Aug. 23: A man was shot in the shoulder while walking his dog.
• Aug. 27: A female victim was walking on a trail when she was approached and threatened her with a gun.
• Aug. 27: In the afternoon, a boy was threatened while riding his bike.
• Aug. 27: In the evening hours, a 12-year-old was shot with a BB gun on the left side of his body.

Looks like the they threatened 3 people and shot 3 more. 3 counts of terroristic threats and 3 counts of assault?

"I am proud of the dedication our detectives showed in this case," Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy E. Nehls said. "BB guns may be just a toy to some, but when used the way these two young men did, well, they are seeing firsthand how serious we take attacks against Fort Bend County residents."

The way Sheriff Nehls has conducted himself and his department since he took office in 2013 has been quite respectable, on several fronts.

What I wish was different about the case at this stage are the low bonds. How about double those amounts?

BTW, in a press conference this afternoon about the BB gun attacks, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said (and I'm paraphrasing because I just heard it on KPRC but didn't record it) that the teens were very lucky to have been arrested. That given the number of people in Texas who legally practice their Second Amendment rights, the odds of the teens soon selecting the wrong individual (meaning a licensed carry holder) who doesn't know what kind of weapon is being fired at him or her, the teens could easily have ended up dead, and probably justifiably.

ETA: Another consideration is that a reasonable person could mistake the sound of a BB gun firing, especially a CO2 powered one, for a .22 pistol. It boils down to what the defender (or defendant if it comes to that..) reasonably believed in the heat of the moment.

The Air Rifle standing at the entrance way used to dispatch squires teasing the dogs is as lould or louder than a .22 rifle (firing not a sonic crack)
