That looks like a pretty good deal also. Comes with a freefloated key mod forend for $550? I'd jump on it if I was in the market for another AR.Bitter Clinger wrote:http://defenderoutdoors.com/american-ta ... 2-GSG-1911

The S&W is perfectly fine for 99.99999% of use. Bottom line, if there is ever anything you don't like about it or don't have enough confidence in it, you can always upgrade it. Even the S&W versions (or any other manufacturers', for that matter) that come without a dust cover or forward assist can be upgraded by simply replacing the upper receiver half - which is a relatively inexpensive upgrade.Smokey613 wrote:I did a lot of research including talking to the guys on our local SO and PD swat teams. Since I have known most of them since they got into law enforcement I picked their brains. These guys have a lot of money invested in their rigs, even the department issued ARs. They told me the S&W M&P 15 Sport II is all I would need if I was not shooting competition or planning on putting tens of thousands of rounds through it and even then, any part that wears out could be replaced easily enough. I am not a "black rifle guy" but decided I wanted one and that now was a good time. The S&W will last me the rest of my life for not much money. Another factor, since I am old school I had already decided my AR was going to be a Colt or S&W and got a better deal on the Smith. BTW, both Colt and S&W offer higher end ARs but at a higher price point than what I wanted to spend.bblhd672 wrote:Is the S&W MP15 Sport 2 considered marginal quality? There's an interesting poll my dad suggested looking at; # of facebook likes. Trump has 11.6 million, Hillary has 6.6 million. I hope that is an indication of how the election will go.parabelum wrote: Trump is taking off ahead of her and I don't believe the lying polls. He is filling the stadiums while the witch can't even fill HS auditorium. Progs know that despite help from subversive Media, Trump has not only remained fairly close to them, but has actually taken a lead by several "polls", and I suspect the internal polls show even more bleak outcome for the witch.
The Sport 2 has both forward assist and dust cover. The Annoyed Man wrote:The S&W is perfectly fine for 99.99999% of use. I agree we shouldn't fall for the hysteria. Buying a S&W MP15 for $650 or a Magpul 10-pack for $100 is not hysteria. Neither is buying ammunition at prices below the five year average. I think it's more prudent than spending a similar amount of money on gold or silver, and a better investment than a new iPhone.parabelum wrote:I feel like the mass hysteria is already gearing up. Do not fall for it. Even if the witch wins, which I believe will not happen, mass hysteria will do more immediate harm to gun/ammo availability then she ever could realistically.
Can't go wrong with a Colt LE 6920!bblhd672 wrote:The Sport 2 has both forward assist and dust cover. The Annoyed Man wrote:The S&W is perfectly fine for 99.99999% of use. I am considering either selling the Sport 2 and replacing it with a more Mil-Spec M4; or just buying an additional MSR Mil-Spec M4 rifle.

Been bitter at Colt ever since, and have never purchased a single one of their products.
