I carried concealed when I interviewed and they made me an offer, so I assume they don't mind me carrying at work.

This for me as well!
Just out of curiosity, do you drive a company owned vehicle to work? If you drive your own vehicle they can't keep you from having a gun locked up inside the vehicle, even on their parking lot.aero10 wrote:Unfortunately for me, no carrying at work (or between work and home). At least I'm allowed to carry my pocket knife.
Of course, maybe you work on federal property. That would be different.Sec. 52.061. RESTRICTION ON PROHIBITING EMPLOYEE ACCESS TO OR STORAGE OF FIREARM OR AMMUNITION. A public or private employer may not prohibit an employee who holds a license to carry a handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, who otherwise lawfully possesses a firearm, or who lawfully possesses ammunition from transporting or storing a firearm or ammunition the employee is authorized by law to possess in a locked, privately owned motor vehicle in a parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area the employer provides for employees.
Besides federal property there are other exceptions if you read all of 52.01.Lynyrd wrote:Just out of curiosity, do you drive a company owned vehicle to work? Do the cards reference open carry explicitly or do they imply that all carry is not allowed? I am thinking of the concern I have seen here that it you OC you might get effective notice that would bar you from carrying at all.bigity wrote:I concealed carry at work, company allows it. They don't post .07 signs, but have cards to hand people who come in open carrying.

They reference open carry only, and the intent from management is to prevent open carry only (customers or employees).Soccerdad1995 wrote:Do the cards reference open carry explicitly or do they imply that all carry is not allowed? I'm sorry. That's really bad that federal regulations have the effect of keeping you disarmed while going back and forth to work.aero10 wrote:It's a federal government issue.

My concern is not at work, it's driving back and forth.
I should of worded that better, it is a federal agency site.aero10 wrote:It's a federal government issue.
