Hopefully, after living in Texas for a while, good sense will start to wear off on them.
If you look at a county-by-county map of the entire US, it looks pretty much the same - 80% of the country is red, with the blue almost exclusively concentrated in major urban areas. Wonder why that is?

Geographical area versus population. That was my point. It doesn't matter how MANY red counties there are, it's a matter of the population of the blue counties.

That is precisely why we have got to get as many people as possible to vote Trump/Pence.
Texas has seen an enormous influx of progs moving in from all over, and they are bringing their liberal votes with them.
In addition, border cities / counties are under assault from illegals.
It seems so many move away from more "progressive" places to get away from the policies voted into reality in that area. Then many (not all), vote the same way in their new homes and are confused when things start going downhill there as well....

I get that, I just find it curious that there seems to be a direct correlation between population density and the tendency toward liberalism. The more people that live in the same area, the more likely that area is to be solid blue.

Well populated areas go blue because of more people wanting more entitlement programs promoted by the democrats.

Alaska is underrepresented by area, and interestingly largely blue by area for such a deep red state.

I don't think the majority of liberals in Texas moved here, or are children of those that did. Texas raises it's own liberals through indoctrination in primary and secondary schools and universities. There are plenty of "home grown" liberals being born every day, and many are the descendants of long time Texas families. Until liberal indoctrination in schools is brought to an end, and schools get back to teaching the basics, including
accurate history, and drop the PC mentality, it will continue to get worse.

I have a 4 y/o and a 1 y/o and I don't know if I can bear sending them to public schools where their teachers will be forced to refer to them using only non-gender-specific pronouns and asking them whether they identify as male or female and what their preferred name is. And I don't know what I'm going to tell my kids when their teacher Ms. Crabapple is talking about her girlfriend/spouse/whatever in the kindergarten classroom. (Actually I think I do know what I am going to tell them, but I don't like the thought of having to tell them).
The policies that our public schools are being forced to use are eroding away at some of the most primary roles of parents. And telling our children that they don't have to be a boy or a girl no matter what their mommies and daddies say.
Obviously the whitehouse is threatening our public school systems with cutting off funding if they don't push the agenda, and if Clinton wins it will only get worse.

Lot of truth in this also. There are Hillary signs in the yards on each side of me - one side are Boston transplants and the other are natives of San Antonio. And there are plenty more native Texan liberals in my very own family, sad to say. And they mainly grew up in rural areas. I love them but
Obviously not
all transplants are liberals, just as not
all of any group are ever anything, but the vast majority of those I run across are.
I fear we are in the final days of America. I don't know what comes next but I can't imagine it will be good.

I think in the 2012 election, it was 54% Romney, 46 Obama. Harris County (Houston) will go Democratic. They expect all judges and county elected officials to go Democratic because of one party voting.
I know Trump has received 2 votes today.

Depending on how far Trump has alienated Latinos, she may win urban areas. That's all it takes to win the state. And if she takes Texas, she's got the prize.
Border security can be discussed without alienating major demographics. That's one of many things Trump seems oblivious to. I hope his candidacy doesn't hand the election to Hillary, but I'm not yet convinced it won't.
And she'll definitely take the People's Republic of Austin.

Latest Clinton Scandal News
WikiLeaks' 13th batch of John Podesta’s emails revealed that Morocco's king paid $12 million to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). The payment was intended to guarantee that Hillary Clinton would appear at a conference in Morocco last year.
Other emails show that Clinton’s top State Department advisor, Huma Abedin, granted access to the then-secretary of state during overseas diplomatic visits based upon Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) donor status.
Podesta’s emails also include confirmation of the overlap between the Clinton State Department, the Clinton Foundation, and a consulting firm run by close friends of the Clintons – a firm that steered tens of millions of dollars to the Clinton family. In a 2011 memo, Doug Band noted that his firm had secured four for-profit business arrangements for Bill Clinton that had netted the former president more than $30 million, with $66 million to be paid over the next nine years.
Two important questions about Hillary Clinton’s emails were raised this week:
• Did the Chinese government access Clinton’s email through the Lenovo laptop that her lawyer, Heather Samuelson, used to review the emails from Clinton’s private server to see which were to be designated as personal and which as work-related? (Lenovo, a company with ties to the Chinese government, sold laptops for years with malware pre-installed.)
• Samuelson and other Clinton lawyers who reviewed her emails for release were handling classified information without the proper security clearances. Why have they not been prosecuted for that?
We also learned this week that a political organization run by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, who has close ties to the Clintons and is a key player in state Democratic politics, gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of a high-ranking FBI official who later helped cover the investigation into Clinton’s email server. The Virginia Democratic Party gave Dr. Jill McCabe’s 2015 state Senate campaign nearly $208,000 – in all, more than a third of all of McCabe’s campaign funds came from McAuliffe’s efforts.

I do not believe main stream media polling (look at the Brexit vote for a recent example). I also believe there to be a LOT of fed up people in this nation who have been energized by Mr. Trump (look at the size of the crowds at his rallies, nationwide). IF any of you think that voting third party shows how principled you are, well that is your belief. However, your principles won't help you very much with Hillary Clinton in office, especially in regards to protecting our Second Amendment rights. I'm sorry if that angers some folks, but that is the way I feel about the thing. I don't love Mr. Trump, but I do love America, and so I will vote for Mr. Trump to vote AGAINST Hillary.
