Simple, if law enforcement lets a known criminal who is an illegal go and they commit ANOTHER CRIME, that person who let him/her go should be held criminally responsible personally. Both criminal and civil.
Take this one issue at a time. Don't clump everything together.
Question: what happens to people caught illegaly crossing the border in Texas?

State troopers should not try to stop the flow of cocaine, and heroin, by stopping trucks crossing the border?

Do they have a warrant or some other reason to search? I don't support randomly stopping pickup trucks coming across the border from Oklahoma just because there might be blow or horse in some of the trucks.

Ninjabread, you said that there should be a State law prohibiting Texas LEO from assisting Federal authorities, and not enforcing Federal Law. An FBI fugitive, with an outstanding Federal warrant, who has committed no crime in the State, in your scenario, should be free to walk the streets, with no fear of arrest from State LEO, nor should the local LEO be involved in assisting in arrests. And if the State and local LEO are prohibited from assisting Federal LEO, then why would they still have to cooperate with other State's LEO? Oklahoma's criminals could come here without fear. So we could then become a sanctuary State, in which criminals from everywhere could hide, which I assume you find to be a good situation?
When LEO take the oath to uphold all laws, that includes Federal law.

Maybe Abbott can do the same to Houston for their flagrant intimidation of citizens through posting 30.06 and 30.07 signs on government property and having armed goons violate civil rights under color of law.

A county sheriff is elected by county residents (more or less). Can the county not call for a recall election and/or who does a county sheriff answer to? If the answers are "No" and "Nobody", the county must be in approval of her actions. So, until next election.....

I believe Hernandez is just hunky dory with the Travis County electorate. They will not recall her. So glad we moved.

I thought same thing...until I looked at the election results. She got like 70% of the vote. Recall unlikely to be successful.

It appears the people have spoken. People like her, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, etc., etc. do not elect themselves, they are elected by people like them. Scary, ain't it?

I recall seeing Abbott also putting something in place by June of this year to be able to have the power to remove elected officials if they elect to ignore the laws. I'm assuming the positions of locally elected officials such as Sheriff's etc.
