There is something so despicable about shooting people while at prayer. I don't care what their religion is.

This is how religious war is ignited. So far it is failing. Regardless of the intent of the actor, a mass murder is a mass murder, and he should be dealt with decisively and head on force against force.

I am afraid, that the underground radicalized Islamists (note, I did not use the term Muslims), would seek to have armed protection guards at their events regardless of the place.

American Muslims too are entitled to their 2ndA rights and they should exercise their 2ndA right at all time. However, many Mosques including the one in my town is legally posted with 30.06 and 30.07 signs

I like that fact that you made a clear distinction between Islamists and Muslims I think that is a very important point that most of the general public has yet to understand. I felt this article provided an educational perspective:

Some 50 years ago at TPI, I knew a Muslim from Beirut named Nabeel. Nabeel was one of the nicest people you ever wanted to meet. Several years later at UT, I met his younger brother whose name was Waleed. Waleed was not one of the nicest people you ever wanted to meet. I think Waleed was capable of throwing a grenade into a school bus.
