I disagree but I am about sick and tired of this kind of thing being permitted. To me, this behaviour is as bad as the original action.
I am a 66 year old, 70% disabled, retired Vietnam Era veteran. My knuckle sandwich dispensing days are long past. An appropriate verbal response to distract the attacker as I prepare to potentially deploy pepper gel would seem reasonable. I like it. I had not considered having a medium form of defense. As I get older it starts becoming painfully obvious to me that my dexterity is not quite what it once was. Not so many years ago I would have been able to handle that thug fairly well. A really strong pepper spray would have been perfect in this situation. If the thug persists, one could then take it to the next level.
