So, here’s an option. I was looking at an ankle holster made by Stein that I got off eBay for the 642 that I got about the same time as the Galco that I have been using. I had the Tomcat beside me and tried it in that holster. Geez, that’s so close to fitting. So, I tried my Bobcat & it fit very nicely. I considered carrying it as a backup to the 642, but 8+1 of .22lr, even as a backup, is questionable.

Well, I was thinking that if the Bobcat fit, then Maybe the leather could stretch enough to fit the Tomcat? It is oh so close to fitting around the hammer. But then I tried it with the hammer cocked back & safety engaged. It actually fits!

So, now I’m thinking of continuing on carrying the 642 on my left ankle as my primary & the Tomcat or maybe the Bobcat on my right as a backup? I just wish I had a Bobcat in .25 ACP.

Ankle holster is a valid carry method. As with all methods, it has its own set of considerations. Here is former Navy SEAL Jeff Gonzales discussing drawing from an ankle holster.

With a little persuasion I was able to get my Keltec P11 to fit in the Galco ankle holster made for the 642. With a spare mag tucked in my pocket beside my wallet I carried 5 times the ammo as I have been. Plus, I put a night sight on the front of this gun.
