Note - It's only 77 pages. When the DPS prepared the PDF they duplicated it all over again after the FAQ's.propellerhead wrote:Where can I get the printed version? I don't feel like printing 149 pages.

Maybe I am just not convinced I want to turn any of this into an "us" vs. "them" deal...
We should know what the law means, and do our best (obviously) to be complicite to that law...Not all of us are going to run out and start doing things that push back the intent, or even the literal meaning of the law, or a change to that law...
That old saying "ignorance of the law is no excuse."...
I would also add, and know most departments do go out and conduct training and classroom instruction on new laws on a regular basis...
And that the same could be said that "incorrect enforcement of the law is no excuse."
But that would be a double negative...
I believe both sides of the equation do a good job in keeping up with things...This seems to happen every two years anyway for some silly reason
, but I believe it all works itself out over a short period of time...
Geesh, we are not even through with the first weekend, and no blood in the streets yet...

Coincidently, The Wife's been doing some "house cleaning" and recently set some old "important" file folders up next to the front door for me to do something with.
In going through them this morning, I recognized one file folder as having handouts from my 1995 instructor school. In it was the identically shaped law booklet entitled "Texas Weapon Laws", dated 1993-1994 (evidently all that was available in the summer of '95). And it's only 17 pages.
