I read an article today that said she was told by police that if she pressed charges that day, she would be arrested as well. She's on probation... She said she never saw the gun, but he acted like he had it and kept telling them IF they come any closer... Bottom line, people in the midst of divorce many times exagerate or let their imagination run wild in a heated argument and think the other person is gonna try and do all kinds of bad things to them. I think once she calmed down she realized that she and the Dad may have been just as much at fault of escalating any argument than GZ.

Unarmed volunteers may be new there but not here. Local PDs have groups and all that I know about must be unarmed. Some are in different color vehicles than officers but it sure seems like you are putting your personal security at risk, hoping that a uniformed (and armed) officer can get to you in time based on your radio call . Given the trend of criminals who seem to desire soft targets, I won't be volunteering any time soon.
