Off duty police officer working security shoots robber pistol whipping his victim at 1 pm on a midtown sidewalk.
I happened to be driving down the same street 3 hrs later.
Must have been 20 emergency vehicles plus live news crews.
Robber ran off ditched coat and gun, but showed up later at a hospital nearby. He’s in surgery.

Man robbed and shot to death while walking with his son near Richmond and Hilcroft.
Your walking, three men pull up in a car get out with guns, rob and murder you in front of your son, get back in their car and drive off. Pretty simple plan.
That would be by my count no. 10 for Houston.

Man murdered by persons unknown at his apartment complex. Dominion Drive. The original planners of this area must have had much higher expectations. Its now not far from the Gunspoint area of Houston, what it became in 40 years.
Number 11 and 12 murders in 2020 in the Houston and Harris County area.

Parents leave toddler in car seat inside car at a convenience store while they go inside. Car is stolen.
Parents arrested. Yeah one had a neck tattoo.
Crime is now so prolific in Harris County that DA wants to be sure you know that leaving a kid in a car will get them kidnapped and you will be prosecuted.

Update:
HOUSTON — A 16-year-old accused of fatally shooting a 19-year-old student inside Bellaire High School has been charged with manslaughter, police confirmed Wednesday.
Police are not releasing the suspect's name because he is a minor.
Bellaire City Manager Paul Hofmann tells KHOU 11 News the charges could be upgraded pending the outcome of the investigation, which is still underway.
In a statement, the Houston Independent School District promised grief and crisis support for students and staff. HISD offers a variety of social and emotional support resources, view more information here.

Mans body dropped off by garbage truck at a land fill today.
So I’m going to call the Bellaire High School Shooting not a murder, since now it appears it was unintentional.
So this will be Number 13, unless it occurred last year or the man accidentally fell into a dumpster and died.
