30ish y/o male
Civil Servant
Single
new applicant in this state, 4 years in former state of residence
Congressional district 8

Just extending a greeting to the forum. I've been active in shooting sports since I was a kid and the passion continues. But after moving to the great state of Texas I let my license go and have recently had the itch to get it back.

Male
Software Engineer / MBA student at DBU
Married
In process of getting CHL (just took my class from Dallas Concealed Carry on Feb 4th)
Live in DFW area
Carry: Nothing for carry yet, but want to get XD9sc for EDC and an LCP or a smaller 9mm for "active" days (mountain biking, running, etc.) Currently have Beretta M9A1 that I want to sell for the XD9sc
I've been a lurker on here for a few weeks now, so I figured it was time I said hello

I'm interested in learning more about and getting involved in competitions and taking more advanced classes. I've been a hunter my whole life (grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho) and stopped shooting for about a decade while going to school and starting to work. I just started getting back into shooting / hunting last year...loving it and kicking myself for ever taking a break
My current gun inventory:
Beretta M9A1
Daniel Defense M4 V3
Remington 12 gauge
Remington 10/22 rifle
Custom made 30-06 (my dad and I made it when I was younger, need to get the details on the action, apparently it's special for some reason)
My future (soon) additions to my gun inventory:
XD9 (maybe XDm) (not sure if I want service or compact size)
XD9sc (EDC)
Smith and Wesson Model 22A
LCP / LC9 / PF9 / PM9 / CM9 / Nano / ???

Okay, I should formally introduce myself.
33
Male
Plant General Manager
Married 9x yrs, no kids, 2x Labradors
Moving to the Lancaster/South Dallas/Ellis Co area in a few weeks
No TX CHL, but have been licensed in PA, MA (sort of... it was restricted in the Socialist Republic), and/or KY continuously since 1999 (wow, almost 13 yrs)
Carry: XD45C and a Thompson compact 1911 (not at the same time)
The wifey's had a CDW license in AL or KY since 2007-ish
I'm originally from the Eastern Pennsylvania Coal Region, but have lived in NY (undergrad), NC (Army), GA (Army), AL (Army), MA (Business School), and KY (Last employer). I served 8+ years in the US Army as an Infantryman before separating to attend business school. Spent 3+ years over 3x deployments deployed as a combat infantryman in Iraq. I am a Ranger, a Jumpmaster, an Expert and Combat Infantryman, and a recipient of "The Enemy Marksmanship Badge". I have very fond memories of my time in the military and the men with whom I've served. Hobbies include shooting sports (looking for good range recommendations to include space for rifles), college football (Penn State, Army, and Michigan), and automotive stuff. Passions include the 2nd Amendment and Liberty.
P.S. Can't wait to get a window decal that says "I'm not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could".

I hope I'm doing this right.
I've had my CHL since 2010. I carry all the time I legally can.
Had been carrying Bersa 9mm and sometimes a S&W 25-5 in 45 Colt.
Recently started carrying a Colt Defender in 45 ACP. Love this weapon.
Age 49. Live in Wise county.
