I picked up a Kel-Tec P3AT today in a trade and a box of .380 Remington hollow points. I have 700rds of FMJ 380 I've been sitting on until I can restock to proper levels. I broke open a box and put 18 rds through the P3AT to make sure it would shoot. Each shot was painful.

Cheaper than Dirt in Fort Worth isn't so cheap. We picked up several boxes of 9mm at the tune of 18.99 a box. All of the local Wally Worlds around me were bare.

Wally Worlds are a weird thing. You just have to get lucky and walk in them at the exact right hour. They usually are wiped out within hours of bringing out ammo. I was in one a couple weeks ago and they had nothing. I went back a few hours later with my daughter for something she was after. I thought, "what the heck, I'll check again". Be darned if they didn't have boxes of 45 being brought from the back. The guys said it just came out of the truck as they were working their way to the back of it. They did tell me that my best chance at getting ammo was mid morning to mid day. They said that by 5:30 or 6:00 any they have is wiped out. I keep hearing the same story about guys buying it and selling it at gun shows. I don't know if this is an urban legend making it's way around or what, but I have been told this at an Academy and a Walmart. It is pretty messed up that guys can buy ammo at full retail and turn it a few days later for a profit.

Something else...the fact that wally world is still selling it for the same prices it was before the O got elected tells us we are being hood winked by our favorite gun/ammo dealers.

So sad, but so true. I guess if I were in the same boat and owned a shop, I can't say that I wouldn't try to ride the proverbial gravy train.

Supply and demand. Capitalism at it's finest. :patriot:

Collins Cartridge Co. and Georgia Arms still sells for a good price if your OK with reloads and a small waiting period.

:iagree: Absolutely agree. :iagree: :patriot: ......I don't like the end of capitalism I happen to be on with ammo prices, but I sure would not be one to dictate how anyone runs their business. I just wish there were some way to get folks to relax a bit. As long as folks are willing to pay the price, the price will keep going up.

So what's your point? Like I said...I support capitalism...I just don't like the end of it I am on with ammo.

Supply and demand is fine, but we may not always be on the losing side.

I hold grudges a very long time. Those that take advantage of me now will get no business later.

Maybe if we weren't so greedy and stopped buying this stuff the prices would go down. They are maunufacturing and selling more ammo than ever, the ranges don't seem much busier, If we decrease the demand the prices will actually go down.
I am proud of those who have not participated in the downturned Obaman economy.

Hoarders will either run out of money or they will finally get enough, either way it should right itself soon.

Having checked the web sites of Wideners, Natchez, Midway, Mid South, Centerfire Systems, and others maybe we should have a thread for ammo sighting at any price!

With the exception of frangible and some other less popular loadings, many of these have nothing at all in self defense calibers.
