Yes, I have officially left the waiting room. Now to figure out how to avoid chaffing, learn to sit while carrying and how to conceal the larger autos. Should be almost as fun as waiting for my CHL to arrive!!!!

Today is day 35 for me. I am still waiting to get my PIN number, so that I can be even more obsessive in counting the days. Congratulations to all who have graduated from the waiting room! I hope to join you by Mother's Day (May 12 will be day 60), but I figure it will likely be closer to Father's Day.

Hi all, I'm new to the site and was wondering if there's an open seat in the waiting room. I'm at day 55 and getting very antsy.

Welcome to the room. I've kept my seat warm for 67 days now. Hopefully they will call my name soon. :)

Sorry Redraider, your processing time doesn't start until you join this forum. So your 55 days don't count. Just kidding.

You will meet a lot of nice people here and learn a lot by browzing the whole forum.

It seems like DPS is moving a little faster now. Some took only a little over 50 days and some, like myself, took 98 days. I'm convinced it's the luck of whose desk your app. lands on.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's good to know that I'm not the only one anxious to get my CHL (already ordered my holsters, belts, ect).

Looks like alot of good info on this website, I'll be busy absorbing it all until my CHL comes.

I sent mine off March 22nd, so I am coming up on 30 days (I sent it overnight so they got it on the 23rd), still waiting on my letter and pin number. I guess I'll just take a seat here in the waiting room. Glad to meet ya folks!

Waiting! I recently sent an email to the CHL office of the DPS.
My email:

I am wondering about the status of certificate # number
My packet was mailed on March 21st, and I have yet to receive a PIN or any notification that my application was received. I would appreciate any information you can offer.

Thank you,

(other relevant information here)

The response on 4-18-06:

currently we are entering applications we received on 03/02/06, once your applications is entered in our system a pin # will be mailed to you.

Don't worry guys. They are very consistant. You can count on getting your CHL somewhere between 50 to 100 days.

:???: That's kind of like me saying I made consistent grades in school, ranging from A's all the way to F's. However, I guess they consistently send it to you if you qualify.
