You cannot deposit would, could, or should at the bank.

I've said this before: The police shoot and kill black men every day, and you never hear of them. The combination of an unarmed man and video is required.

Residents of the Las Vegas area have been receiving robocalls criticizing the Clark County District Attorney and Sheriff over their handling of the Erik Scott shooting. The source of the calls is unknown. Erik Scott's family and friends have denied involvement.

The cynic in me is betting that when the video tape finally resurfaces Erick has a not quite discernible object in one of his hands.

The LVMPD has sent letters and faxes to Costco customers who have been identified as having used their account at the Summerlin store around the time of the shooting. The text of the letter is included in the linked article.

An article about the history of the LVMPD inquest process.

Erik Scott's father talks about the inquest announcement.

Trevon Cole's inquest is tomorrow. Cole was unarmed and being interrogated when he was shot by an LVMPD officer.

Trevon Dale's inquest was not completed today and will resume tomorrow.

His fiance's testimony is available on video. (The entire inquest is being videotaped.) She testifies that his hands were in the air, open and palms facing the officer when he was shot in the head.

Erik's father seems pretty certain that a coverup is underway to keep both the 911 tape and the Costco videos from ever seeing the light of day.

His fiancé's testimony does not appear to help the case for the victim. She first claimed she saw nothing then she says his hands were in the air. if I am not mistaken, did I hear her say he had 1 ounce of marijuana and that this was an average amount for him..... LOL. Holy Cow!!! That would be one heck of a lot of pot to smoke before heading off to Costco. I still believe the cops over reacted and killed a guy they should not have, but she isn't helping to boaster his side of things.

No, no, no. This is a different case. Trevon Dale was a small time drug dealer who was shot in the bathroom of his apartment. This is not Erik Scott's inquest.

Thank you, WildBill, for the link to this blog. Very interesting reading. Perhaps the Sheriff is trying to keep the truth from coming forward with the 911 tape and the video until he can get re-elected in November. Please keep us apprised of any further developments. Much obliged. :tiphat:

Considering the available facts, that's a logical conclusion.

In a prequil to the Erik Scott inquest, the jury found the killing of Trevor Cole justified in Las Vegas.

http://www.lvrj.com/news/officer--shoot ... ents=y&c=y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In this case an unarmed man was killed inside his home sitting in front of the toilet by police officers serving a warrant. The man was attempting to flush pot down the toilet.

Seconds before the police used a battering ram to break down the front door. The door to the bathroom was closed, the office kicked it in at that point his tactical light failed, but as the door flew open he saw the large man stand up and move his arms as if to point a gun at him. He also saw in the darkness something shiny. This was believed to be the plastic bag of pot found nearby or a tube of chap stick found in the dead mans hands. The office stated that the man forced him to do his job, by pointing what he thought was a gun at him.

The dead man's girlfriend who has an infant girl with deceased said that he was knelling on the floor with his hands over his head when he was shot. CSI Las Vegas said that the autopsy showed the bullet entered his cheek and went from there down into his neck, supporting the girlfriends statement that he was knelling or sitting when shot only once.

The prosecution suggested that the AR15 discharged when the trigger was pulled accidentally by the officer during the kicking in of the door as the other police only reported one sound not two.

So here we may have a man without a weapon his hands over his head killed by Las Vegas police and the matter was ruled justified.

Does n't look good for Erik Scott's inquest. Afterall Erik was armed with two guns not chapstick.

That is enough to blame the killing on the LEOs. Negligence, trigger happy, whatever, even if they are found not be criminally liable. A multi-million civil suit should be in order for the wrongful killing of a unarmed person.

Man, I just got done reading that story, and I'm telling you, something is rotten in Denmark. Despite the fact that none of the testimony supports the detective's version of how he came to shoot Cole, the jury found the shooting justified. Not just excusable, mind you, but justified. I think that without the video of his shooting Erik's inquest is almost certain to turn out the same way. Unbelieveable! Just unbelievable! I am stunned. The people of Las Vegas should be very, very concerned about their police department.
