Just outta curiosity has anyone received any kind of update during a random time of day? Its been my expierence to only see updates first thing in the morning. Mostly on Saturdays weird......

The squeaky wheel does indeed get the grease. After sitting at the background check portion of the application for 3 weeks without movement, I sent an email to TXDPS. Lo and behold, 24 hours later I get a reply saying the following:

It is a sixty day process; however your license has been approved and you should receive it in 14-21 days.

So out of the blue my check is complete and manufacturing is pending as of this AM. Guess the package got stuck somewhere and I had to bring it to their attention.

So, hopefully they get my license to me ASAP. Tired of waiting.

Well good news everyone, I sent an email yesterday and here is thier response today: The funny thing is is wasnt from rene.... it was from a Simone

Your license has been approved and you should receive it in 10-14 days.

It is about time you got some good news, your's must of fell off into a crack somewhere and they finally found it. Hope your wait ain't much longer.

Aye, thanks. I figured something happened as I felt like I was doing 30mph on the CHL superhighway and getting passed on both sides by folks doing 120.

I left for a weeks vacation and returned to find... Plastic in the mail!

Yeah my background check has finally changed to finished. Now on manufacturing pending

Congrats to all of us in the April class! It looks like things are finally moving for everyone. We had the unfortunate timing of submitting our apps right when the FBI was busy with census workers, but we're almost all through it now! Now that the background check is approved, it should be smooth sailing for you last few.

Thanks in large part to the information provided on this board, there will be lots more well educated, well armed upstanding citizens on the streets of Texas soon.

I'm sure mine will change soon, too.

At least it hasn't been 120 days like a year ago.

Texasonline said a couple days ago that my background check was complete and my license was pending manufacturing. Here's to hanging out and checking the website 5 times a day to see if it's been mailed.

Changed to mailed this morning! I get to use the dancing banana!
