Mine was a renewal

Application sent online 3/07/16 supporting documents mailed next day (DD 214) received LTC 4/21/16 - 6 wks to the day from submittal.

Email response from DPS indicating it can take up to 8 weeks while I was going into week 13(priceless): 4/13/16
Call from DPS indicating application was accepted(and to expect plastic in 7 to 10 days):4/14/16
Site Showed Change Address etc: 4/18/16
Plastic Received: 4/21/2016
Took my plastic and gun to get some cigars to celebrate: 4/21/16
Wally World walk : 4/22/16(most likely)

Good luck to the rest of those waiting it's all worth it in the end.

1st post, my wife and I received confirmation email on 1/26/16 and today my wife got her card in the mail.
I hope I get mine soon.
She applied under Vet, and I was going to apply as Vet but applied under supervision officer.

Good morning everyone! I have been following this forum for a while now. I have been patiently waiting; however, I just called DPS and a guy answered and gave me some run around about the status and that they are waiting on the background check to come in. He mentioned that the 60 days begins once they have the background check. Kind of ridiculous that he told me that there's a long line in front of me, yet anyone with an application past January is already receiving them. Sorry for the venting, probably should have registered to the forum earlier. I have really enjoyed everyone's posts; it is the only way of gauging how much time is left in the process. I was hoping I would contact them and they would say "It has been sent to printing", Lol. No such luck.

So this tells me that even the folks working on our licensing are not sure when the clock starts on the 60 days. There is nothing that says it starts once background check is complete. It states that it starts when the applicant provides all the necessary information. I am beginning to think that a reading comprehension section should be attached to all applications for state and federal employment.

The 60 days starting after the background check sounds completely bogus. I wonder if they exchange excuses they use on us over lunch.

seems like the answers you get when calling the RSD are all over the place. From what they've told me - I'm going with 60 calendar days from the date you get your confirmation email from them. BTW - today is day 60 for me....just trying to be patient - I'm sure mine will come in when I least expect it.

The DPS website seems pretty clear on it actually...

"By statute, DPS has up to 60 days to issue an original LTC, and 45 days to issue a renewal license. However, it is imperative that applicants understand that these time periods are calculated from the time a fully-completed application AND supporting documents are received by the department.

In order to be complete, an original LTC application must include: a completed application form, electronic fingerprints, the Certificate of Training and any required supporting documentation. Renewal applications must include a completed application form along with any necessary supporting documents."

My husband and I both submitted and did all of our classes the same days. We are impatiently waiting on our cards and I check the website daily. Very ready to carry my baby with me 24/7.

02/21/16 - LTC Class completed
03/12/16 - LTC application submitted
03/19/16 - finger prints completed
03/21/16 - CHL-100 submitted / RSD received email

Ok, well just got off the phone with RSD. My application was sent to print on April 18th!!!!!
However, I'm still not showing a status update online. She did advise that it would be anywhere from 14-21 business days once it's sent to print to arrive. (I'm kind of thinking the printers are getting overwhelmed too...)

Status change as of today!!!! So now just waiting for print/snail mail!!!!

My confirmation email was Feb 19, looks like its time for me to call and check on mine...(on hold now, only took 13 calls, must be a record)
