How many spots are left? I don't have 7 magazines for my ruger but with 50 rounds per stage I would think 5 would be sufficient.
We have the same number spots open as you have magazines. :-)
As for 5 mags being sufficient. Sure. And if you have a Glock or Beretta, you only need 2. However, the point is to make the platforms as equal as possible in functions. With 7 magazines, everybody does the same number of mag changes and hence has the same number of potential problems associated with lockbacks and mag changes.

Ok I get your point, I was not thinking about that. I finally see the picture. I wasn't thinking about 7 magazines loaded with 7 rounds each and starting with one in the pipe. I just slapped myself up beside the head.

If the only thing that's keeping you away is magazine count, let me know and I'll bring a couple to the match for you to use.

I would like to enter with my S&W model 642. I have plenty of mags for it.
Seriously, though........count me in. Might throw in some reloads to offset the cost of ammo a bit, but we'll see what's available at Walmart. Maybe I can mix it up a bit and find some cheap Wolf 9mm or something. I think Black Hills should sponsor the event!!!

Still waiting on my plastic so i can not satisfy requirement #1
Otherwise I would go, I am sure that the only malfunctions that my glock will have is that it is possible that the plastic part on the mag follower that engages the slide lock will wear out or the slide lock will sheer off (stupid stamped steel). It would not keep the gun from firing safely but would force me to count shots as to not get a FTF for having an empty mag+chamber.
If glock FACTORY would make a steel follower for the mag or a tennifered slide lock I would buy them in a heart beat.

I had a student (Ryan) in CHL class last weekend shooting a tricked-out Springfield 1911. After class I mentioned this "torture test" and he was very interested. DNS/John, he e-mailed me this morning for details and I simply sent him the link to similar thread over at THR. He already has a couple thousand rounds of 185 grain reloads ready to burn ....

Eh, half the people here own at least one of each. I'd guess the win goes to Team Glock.

Glock will "win" this "contest".
Just like comparing the cost for servicing a Honda Accord and a Ferrari over a period of 3 years, the Ferrari will "lose". But in a race for my life I would want to be driving the Ferrari.
And I carry a 1911. Properly maintained and operated, I find the 1911 to be superior in every way except capacity, which is low on my list of things I require of a carry gun.
Next up, compare the Glock to a S&W Model 19 revolver and see which has fewer malfunctions.
Pointless "contest" in my opinion.

Sure. I drive a toyota. My glock rides with me, while my springfield 1911 is a beautiful safe queen.

A Colt, A Sig .... and a Glock 26. Two of the top three eatin' Blaser Aluminum, no less. Congrats to all "survivors".

By the way, I shot a GSSF match the day following the 1000 round test. Shooting 1000 rounds in a day doesn't seem to have hurt my shooting skills much, I knocked over 30 seconds off my previous best score and had fewer penalties than ever before.
