No the "or" is not the key word and there is no mention of permission from owner.

It is saying I am committing an offense if am not the owner of premises or in charge of the premises(control), or heading to or sitting inside a vehicle I own or control. The or is just adding a vehicle to the mix.

Does it say elsewhere that having property owners permission makes concealed carry legal( without a CHL) without a control or ownership of premises? There is a difference between permission and control of premises. It seems I am carrying at work illegally without my renwed CHL because I don't own the premises and I am not in control of the premises. My boss said I could carry there but he didn't grant me control of the place.

I said a friend carrying in my house without a CHL but with my permission to do so in my house......? I don't understand the wink...

I'm not arguing with you. And this certainly isn't the thread to address your questions. Start another. Argue with someone else.

The friend thing was to compare it to boss granting me permission to carry on his property.

My idea was that my hypothetical friend said "hey can I try your carry rig to see how I like it?" and I say "you certainly may try it out in my home but keep in mind that you sir are not in control of my premises"

No, noone would find out but it would still be illegal I guess, bringing me back to my private property issue, guns are not illegal but the state wants to control the extent to which they are exposed to an observer on my private property.

Reading other posts about how long it takes to get the CHL once the application is submitted is really disturbing. I'm presently at 96 days and waiting. That seems unreasonable to me. Has anyone heard any comments from DPS as to why it takes so long? What do they say about it? Thanks.

I had to do a change of address in May, so I did it online. 54 days later I have finally recieved it. Standard wait time is claimed at 15-20 business days 'til it hits the mail - so it seems it's not just CHL processing that's lagging, but DPS in general.

Yay. :waiting:
