Without getting into a political debate of right vs left, I will try to answer your question, as I see it.Purplehood wrote:I am wondering just exactly what her abilities are...mr surveyor wrote:libs mock Palin because they are scared to death of her abilities.
First, let me say that I don't believe Palin is presidential material yet. She may never be...I don't know. But as governor, she has displayed courage and fortitude. She has taken on some large political interests in her state, and refused to back down, cleaning-up some significant beaurocratic messes on Alaska's political landscape. She made commitments to the people of Alaska, and focused on those issues when she was elected. I would say that her attitude is very refreshing. She made promises, and had the backbone to follow through with them. How many DC politicians can we say that about?
I believe the reason she became such an immediate conservative icon is the fact that she has an in-your-face un-apologetic stance that conservatives are longing for. Conservatives are looking for someone that can take the leadership reins and be strong about it. I'm not sorry for being a conservative, and I don't want the people that I elect to represent me to be apologetic about it either.
When you couple Palin's attitide and views, ethics, morals and average joe persona, you've got the stuff that excites the conservative base. While I believe there are several more qualified potential candidates, I think her presence in DC would be a breath of fresh air. Plus, she's HOT
