When i was a teenager we were at the mall with a few friends. A buddy of mine bought a t-shirt with a funny but offensive scene on it. He liked it so much he put it on over his shirt right there at the counter. About 10 minutes later a mall security guard stopped him and made him take it off saying someone had complained about it. He protested saying he actually bought the shirt at the mall only a few minutes ago, but they guy told him to take it off or leave the premises.
I always thought that was more than a little wrong.

You could complain about the store. See if they kick them out of the mall. LOL!

I think "Rule 34" also applies but it violates the ten year old rule.

This article by one of the founders of FIRE, although it is focused on the Gates-Crowley affair, gets into legal exceptions to the First Amendment, including 'fighting words.' It briefly covers a SCOTUS case on foul words in a public place, as well as "university censorship." You have to read down a few paras to get to the broader points, but it is well worth it, I think.

Not, where in effect, I have to leave the store am I going to let it go. There comes a point where letting it go is tantamount to a certain kind of immoral anarchy...
The public and their sensibilities are blatantely disregarded according to this credo - the lowest gutter type denominator gets free reign.
Unless people object, it'll only get worse.
I think an accidental, totally unintentional spill of a cola, or syrup, or chicken juices on his head might get him to leave. Or an accidental, totally unintentional spray of paint that you were testing as he happened to walk by.

You can pretend it's an accident but if you assault him you can be arrested and charged. If he decides to use force to defend himself, you have no justification under Chapter 9 to fight back.
