Better to keep quiet and carry legally. Company policy is just policy if they don't follow 30.06 to the letter.

I understand that there is something like a 10% unemployment rate in this country. There will be no shortage of qualified applicants for the jobs recently vacated by those challenging their employers' positions on guns in, and around, the workplace.
I wish it wasn't so but as Walter Cronkite used to say as he closed his newscasts, "...and that's the way it is...".

That's an average across the whole country and across all sectors. It's higher in some regions and job types and much much lower in others. So, you're partially right. Someone who has common skills or poor skills should tread lightly, lest they be replaced by another warm body. On the other hand, those of us who get several emails and phone calls from recruiters every month can feel more comfortable about putting a greater value on our safety than on our jobs, because we can get another job much quicker than we can get out of the ICU or morgue.
That's not to say it's smart to rock the boat. However, concealed means concealed, so I feel comfortable ignoring policies that are unacceptable to me. I know a company can fire me if I save my life, but it beats the alternative.

Carry concealed and keep quiet about it. If the situation ever arises where you must defend your life you will be more thankful to be alive than being worried about getting fired.

I've got a whole lot of respect for you on this, but as much as it really kills me my company posted 30.06, I just cannot afford to rock the boat. I really love the people I work for, and I'm offended by the policy, but I have kids and a wife who need me working. Good luck with your efforts though, you've got moxy.
