Tell Starbucks: Keep Guns Out of its Coffee Shops

This is they reply to the email that I recieved from Starbucks (unfortunately, it could have been written to a supporter of firearm carry or an opponent):

Do you support Wal-Mart (leaving aside non-gun issues)?

Wal-Mart has the same policy: they respect the laws of the states where their stores are located.

Yeah, sometimes some local manager will muck things up, but it gets straightened out eventually. I don't think Starbucks has even had that problem, except in California where a local manager was coerced into signing a trespassing order against a UOC'er.

The Brady Bunch were the bad guys here, not Starbucks.

The boiler plate is intentionally non-committal. They want to acknowledge your input with out over committing on any topic. BUT, I bet they are keeping track of the opinions received. Keep the kudos coming if you think they are warranted.

I just saw a TV news story about this on Fox News today. Remember, Starbucks is a corporation that is only in it to MAKE MONEY. Therefore, your emails and letters will fall on deaf ears unless your letters are real letters, not emails. If they see a mountain of letters, they may start to listen. If they have franchisees write them letters, they will listen. If they have shareholders write them, they WILL listen, especially if they're BIG shareholders. Afterall, share holders are their bosses.

Telling them that you're for or against guns is worthless. They don't care. Telling them how being for guns or at least not against guns will earn them MONEY will get a positive response from them.

Here's what I did;
1. bought $10,000.00 of Starbucks stock.
2. held a company party and used Starbucks (they delivered to my business) to cater. I saved the fat receipt.
3. mailed a copy of the receipt for both with a letter to Starbucks investor relations, ceo, and feedback.

Dear Sir/Ms,

As a shareholder of Starbucks and a customer, I thank you for keeping politics out of profits. By neither putting up signs to ban guns nor putting up signs to promote guns, you have kept politics out of your business. I applaud your politics neutral stance because politics is bad for business. Upsetting any group of political activists means that the activists will actively seek out ways to undermine and sabotage your business. This is bad for profits. You might be surprised to find that politics is bad for profits. As a shareholder of Starbucks, I appreciate your keeping the company profitable by staying out of politics.

I invite y'all do the same thing that I just did. Other businesses are eyeballing Starbucks to see what they do and the financial results of what they did. We need to make sure that Starbucks stock prices and profits go up as a result of their refusal to put up "no guns" signs in their stores. If we fail to do so, then expect all your local businesses to put up "no guns" signs. If we can't tote our guns anywhere due to 30.06 signs popping up everywhere, what good is a CHL, anyways?

I agree. The Brady bunch has become irrelevant and is just grasping at straws to stay in the news. Starbucks has stated they will follow state law as to handgun carry in their coffee shops.

You hit the nail on the head. If they see that their revenues go up as a result of this, they won't want to ban gun's in their stores. It's like burning money.
