My son has no problem with it. Matter of fact he bought a shotgun (12 Ga. 18” barrel) for home defense. I recently bought him a Kimber and a stainless Beretta Tomcat. He is going to get his CHL soon.

My youngest daughter wants to go to the range with me next time and shoot. She loves a challenge. I think she will do OK with my Kimber.

I wish I hadn't had to foot the bill for my kimbers, (but I'm glad I did) .

I learned very quickly upon receiving my CHL to choose wisely the people that know I'm carrying. I brought my handgun into my step-sister's house when we went to visit them after she had her first baby. I even purchased a special locking case just for the trip (even though said baby was entirely too young to access it). By failing to keep my status a secret & researching off-limits locations sufficiently, the news of my status didn't meld with her post-partum hormones; I think she still is a bit angry at me to this day. For awhile, she even appeared nervous when I would hold the baby.

Lesson learned.

I appreciate this discussion because I am waiting for the plastic since 30 or so days ago when I submitted the paperwork, and I am considering some of the changes in my lifestyle and around me. Fortunently most of my friends are gun owners so it shouldn't be much problem. Still, one thing I have learned today by reading the posts is, it is probably better not to discuss it with anyone.

Great idea. That's how I go about it and haven't had any troubles as of yet. Only my fiance, parents, and very few close friends know of my CHL.

Think of it this way; what will you gain from telling someone you have it? Does that make you a better person? More respected, etc.? If so, maybe we should look at the way we interact with others if this makes an improvement in their opinion of us. The only people that know are my wife, (she sees me get dressed) my son (only because we sometimes decide on who carries which gun) and my daughters (who know I almost always carry).
