I'll keep watching, but there's getting to be a little too much "drama" for my tastes. I guess they have to keep it interesting, though. And it is working. I have to watch at my in-laws, as we are a cable/satellite free home, so yesterday we caught up on episodes 1 and 2, then watched episode 3 live. My mother-in-law (who we have yet to convince to go shooting) was hooked after episode 2!

I'm actually looking forward to the rest of the series - even more so if they take some of the drama out.

I did some high rope work and zip line stuff as a fireman, years ago, but this last week in Hawai'i was the first time I ever rode one for recreation. Considering my level of experience and the amount of trouble I had keeping myself straight, I consider shooting while ziplining to be extremely foolhardy.

If you haven't seen it, the "zip line" is more like a ski lift in that they
are sitting in a seat that is very stable as it slides down the zip line.
If you think one-person ski lift chair, that is more the picture than
hanging from a harness.

I'm not much of a hunter but I love to target shoot, and everything
they have done on that show so far looks like a TON of fun!!

No need to go to the inlaws. I used SIA's link to Hula to catch up on ones I've missed. http://www.hulu.com/top-shot" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My wife found the link last night. Might have to watch it that way, but it is good to go to the in-laws anyway, because it's a much bigger HD screen, and I can 'nudge' them ever closer to taking more trips to the range. Plus my f-i-l has many, many questions about the weapons used, and my limited knowledge is better than other sources he'd look to for answers.

Thanks for the reminder about Hulu, though - I never would have thought to look there.

I just recently watched the first two episodes on History Channel's web site. They don't have the third longbow episode posted yet, and the Hulu link keeps playing the intro and then stopping and won't play rest of episode. Oh well, I'll check the schedule and watch a rerun on TV this week. I'm gonna set my DVR to record rest of the episodes.

I have to say that I DESPISE these vote-em-off Survivor-style "reality" shows. My wife watches "Top Chef" the only other such show I've been forced to sit through a time or two. But I agree with previous posts that this show thankfully is devoid so far of much of the petty back-biting, cat-fighting and scripted "drama" of other such shows - probably because of the demeanor and professionalism of the contestants, but also because the producers obviously know that the show's target audience won't like nor put up with that kind of crap (especially on a show in which people are constantly handling deadly weapons).

I did think it sort of anti-climatic that the blue team guy who is obviously the best shot in the entire show with an M9 gets voted to sit out that competition. I hope that doesn't become a theme (voting to make the best competitor in a particular event sit out), because that waters down the show a bit. I'd like to have seen that guy shoot the actual competition to see if he's as good under pressure as he is during practice.

All in all I think the contestants so far come across as great ambassadors for the shooting sports, for the most part demonstrating safety as well as skill (the constant "re-safetying" of the M9s in that competition was nice reminder to new shooters that even in competition, safety is No. 1).

I am curious about the California location. I heard one brief mention on one of the episodes that they were somewhere in California. Thanks to previous posters for clarifying this. But begs a few questions .... do all of those M9s have only 10-round mags? in the upcoming AR-15 episode, will those rifles also have only 10-round mags? Or does Kalifornia law include loop-holes for movie/TV production companies to be allowed to possess banned guns and accessories while the average citizen is prohibited? I think I already know the answer.

I like the idea of getting a TexasCHLForum.com team together for next season. But what would be our specialty? It seems each round is based on the specialty of one or more competitors. Perhaps they can have a competition involving having to carry a loaded pistol through the streets of San Francisco without being detected? If you print, you lose. :biggrinjester:

Wow Jim got screwed at the elimination challenge, looking at the replay on the DVR there was no way he could shoot the one red target without hitting the blue as it was directly behind it the entire time, I'd be mad if I were him

I had never heard of ZZ as a handgun manufacturer. It sounds as if it is a Sig clone from South Africa. Does anyone know anything about these? AndyC where are you?

Watched the "longbow" episode last night, and the only thing I can say is this show has devolved to an even more juvenile level than the average survivor show.

It would be a more honest test if all of the contestants competed with each time of weapon and the top scorer won - this "let's vote this guy off" "I'm the king of the hill" stuff is just too juvenile for my tastes. I don't watch the other survivor shows either.
