A week from online information available to fingerprints approved... let's hope the background check only takes another week! (knock on wood)

Congrats on the progress. I've seen some folks that say the background check may follow by only a few days.

I'm going to do my best to wait until mid-next week to check my status again.

Whaaaat?! You will probably have a sub 30 day turn around. That's crazy.. but huge congrats! You give me hope that mine may not be far behind, as everything else for our has lined up so far... knock on wood.

Finally Manufacturing Pending
Sept. 4 will be 30 days when I sent app in, plus received application back because it was incomplete on 21 Aug. corrected and returned it on 22 Aug.
So things are moving right along.

Hello everyone

Well, back in the waiting room but this time for my wife. She is not especially interested in doing all the checking and fretting. So being a good husband, I'll do it for her. Here's her progress so far:
8/14/2010 CHL class
8/22/2010 online application made
8/25 FAST fingerprinting; the woman taking the fingerprints said they would be rejected (too little ridge definition); we will see ...
8/26 paperwork mailed
8/27 USPS said paperwork received
waiting ...

Yeah, me too ... I thought I had time to spare. Not that I'm griping, mind you ... but sixteen calendar days from received to "manufacturing" is crazy-fast from what I've read.

Hi all, new to the Forum. Finally took the plunge. Application information appeared on the TX DPS website today. Pending items are fingerprints and background check. Have already had several BCs for work, but I never underestimate the ability of government to screw something up. We'll see how long it takes...

Haven't decided on a carry weapon yet. I have a Sig 226R and Glock 19, both of which are on the large size for me to carry, and an old Sterling 400 .380 which fits great, but is not the most reliable feeder. I may have to break the news to my wife that a new handgun is in my future.
