When there were no clothes on the lines you could hook the dogs lead on one of the lines. That way, he could run unfettered...at least back and forth.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... (Jefferson quoting Beccaria)

Is it bad that I'm very familiar with all the clothesline "rules".... and I'm only 26?

I grew up in the sticks, so... yeah. Scary.

Very early in my life(before 3 years of age) I am told that I had a penchant for vacating the premises and going places my mother didn't want me to go, like the elementary school about a mile away from our house. It seems that she came up with the solution of a dog harness and a chain clipped to the clothesline and the dog harness. I would imagine that she had to tighten the clothesline every time she needed to use it. :coolgleamA: "rlol"

I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

People are returning to clothes lines, especially in my area.
Many of us cloth diaper, and they last longer when line-dried as opposed to machine-dried. However, I've been hanging them up in the house rather than a line outside.
Friends of mine, however, are using retractible clothes lines.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.
