Back in high school a certain consenting girl cried rape when her father found me in his house at 4am. He was an ex-marine. I was in my prime football years, and I still had my shoes on.
I learned something.
I was fast enough to get away through the open window.
I politely refused following invitations.
I wouldn't have a need to draw in such a situation, if I were married. I would follow my buddy's advice though: Get a witness over, have her draw up a list of things she needs "back". Give her those things, have her sign that she received them in front of said witness, and then walk away from that relationship.

In a way Keith, these other issues surrounding the shooting of a spouse are part of the discussion. These are the very questions that a judge and jury are going to hear in a trial. The answer is never black and white when a poster is asking when it is legal to shoot a fellow human being.
