This is good news! Hopefully our Brady scores will be dropping a few points in the near future!

I think the House companion bill has to pass OR they adopt the senate version in its entirety,
then a house vote, then to Govs office.

Our opponents didn't anticipate us having any more cards up our sleeves
On to the House and to Perry and then it's final. I wonder if John Woods will be moving to another state after this?

It may not need to. SB1581 has a
companion bill in the House that has already been voted out of Calendars; it should be on the supplemental calendar for tomorrow.
ETA: sponsors of the companion HB3639 (Pitts and Aycock) are both TSRA A-rated Republicans, although neither is a HB750 cosponsor.

I don't think these go to Calendars. I think Calendars sets the House Calendars, and whatever comes from the Senate gets pushed to the front. I'm probably wrong.
BTW, Johhny Woodhead is despondent in his tweeting.

Neither Pitts nor Aycock, the authors of HB3639, are authors/coauthors of HB750.

Kind of like they did for HB 681... I think they substituted SB 321 for it when it came up.

Does this mean there was no private school opt-out?
I'm just catching up for today. IIRC, to make it germane to Zaff's bill, he couldn't have the private school opt-out. I'm wondering if that carried over.

I think that's correct, Zaffrini FORCED Wentworth to remove private school opt out so it would be broad enough to be germane.
Then she opened the door for him.
Such a nice lady.
It's like JUDO politics. using an opponent's moves/momentum against them ... redirecting; it's easier than opposing the oncoming force
