Good video with the numbers:baldeagle wrote:The raise revenues cry is pure hogwash. The entire fortunes of the 10 richest people in America would not pay the interest on the debt for three months. If you confiscated all the wealth of every US millionaire, it would cover 1/6th of our current obligations for Medicare and Social Security. You can raise revenues until there's none left to raise and it won't solve the problem.
Yeah thats it, poor people its their fault. It has absolutely nothing to do with the unemployment and the financial crisis that started in 08. It has nothing to do with Bush, just a community organizer who wants to see people fed.texanron wrote:This is what happens when a community activist is elected to the highest office in the land. We get the highest number of food stamps being issued in history and suffer the downgrade of our credit rating.
Politicians have to accept a lot of the blame for the financial crises. Their policies and laws helped cause many of the problems and made other financial problems worse. Anyone who was in federal office (House, Senate, agency heads and yes POTUS) in 2008 or earlier has to bear the brunt of the blame. They all need to lose their jobs so we can turn the country around.loadedliberal wrote:Yeah thats it, poor people its their fault. If those poor people are part of the uneducated youth that elected this community organizer...then yes its their fault. This socialist got a check for almost $1 trillion and absolutrly freaking blew it. We gained absolutely nothing...NOTHING....out of that money. Well....we got our credit rating lowered out of it. Where are all those jobs your boy promised us? Why is his comrade Geithner still there? After all, Geithner vowed just 4 months ago that we would not lose our credit rating.loadedliberal wrote:Yeah thats it, poor people its their fault. We'll take that as long as you'll concede that the 08 crisis was caused by Barney Frank and Bill Clinton forcing Fannie and Freddie to give loans to deadbeats and forcing the big banks to buy bad paper. Deal?loadedliberal wrote:Yeah thats it, poor people its their fault. It has absolutely nothing to do with the unemployment and the financial crisis that started in 08. Please do not forget that 10-12 million illegal immigrant who pay $0 for the Federal income tax or any other tax (save sales tax).Slowplay wrote:Some men you just can't reach [in my best Strother Martin voice].
We've had the two largest increases to the debt limit in the past 18 months. It was not a surprise when the dem congress increased it by almost $2 trillion in early calendar 2010. For the split congress to just increase it around $2.4 trillion, after the 2010 election results, it is quite disappointing.
We are now at total debt to GDP of ~ 100%. Libs want more tax receipts and the "rich" to pay more of their "fair share," but when half of US households pay nothing in federal income tax, you can see through their deceptive and dishonest rhetoric.
OK. Let's keep feeding the poor people. Let's keep borrowing so we can feed the poor people. Eventually, when the country goes bankrupt. what happens to the poor people then? I'll give you a hint. It's not good.loadedliberal wrote:Yeah thats it, poor people its their fault. It has absolutely nothing to do with the unemployment and the financial crisis that started in 08.
