I saw an older woman crossing in the parking lot of a store, when three guys in a car pulled up close to her and blew the horn. Idiots.

I know of a case where a woman was walking in the cross walk in front of a store and some guys speeded up acting like they were going to hit her. They stopped just a couple of feet from her.

What do you think would be the likely outcome of drawing and pointing at the driver as he was coming toward you. BTW I walk with a cane and walk extremely slowly at times.

One possible outcome would be the driver flooring it to run over what he perceived as a threat.

Why not? Irresponsible and immature actions like this by the OP and others could ultimately cost all of us our guns and licenses. Remember this: there are way more anti-gunners than there are pro-gunners...even in Texas.
That doesn't mean we should keep piling on. It's not suprising to me though that you would take this road.
I can see your point with the first sentence, but isn't the second an example of you doing the same?

I come here to learn and appreciate most posters on this forum, the both of you included. I would state that some of us do not have the luxury of allowing ourselves to reach our boiling point. That is not a statement of superiority or inferiority; it is just a fact of daily living in some people's lives and professions. I wish peaceful living for both of you and a good day.

Thanks, Dave. We old, dumb folks need all the help we can get.

Your message is well spoken and I hope equally well taken. For instance, Mrs. Oldgringo and I just came in from a eight day, 1300 mile round trip family visit in B'ham towing the 'lil RV across four states and back. Although we don't drive fast, we neither one felt the need to shoot nobody - on the road or in the towns and cities. As much as some folks deserve to be shot, we just can't afford it; instead, we just  and wave. (except for the guy I came close to hosing down in Utah this past September :evil2: )

This is one of those no-win situations... swerving towards someone is predatory behavior, just like threatening somebody with an empty gun. I'm not saying that I'd shot the driver if I was ever in that position, but nor would I fault somebody who did.

I would suggest a good anger management course. You acted foolishly.

Thats another example of monkey dance. Idiot A swerves pretending to trying to run over person B. Person B pulls gun to scare Idiot A. Idiot A sees this as a real threat and floors it to run over person B. Person B now sees this as real life threat and fires at idiot A. Each step escalated it, and the plug could have been pulled at each step along the way. Depending upon circumstance, you step out of way and let bozo do what bozo's do. Personally, I would (have) stopped, looked straight at them, smile and wave saying "How you brothers doing today?" Do the unexpected....gets them everytime.

You forgot..........idiot A swerves and continues full speed with bullet in skull and runs over Person B which eliminates two numbskulls from gene pool.

I can get pretty angry at times so I can relate to your anger. This is what helps me when I am angry:

A question that is naturally raised in me is related to my own self-awareness- "Why am I doing/saying what I am doing/saying?" You seem to answer that question with several of the words (below) that I highlighted. The situation quickly escalates. I know that it is very difficult to "control" anger and usually there is a primary feeling behind the anger- (glad, mad, sad, and scared).
pcgizzmo wrote:So, I took my car to get it washed today. I was hungry so I walked across a 4 lane rd to go get a hamburger while I waited. On my way back while walking across the road I see a white car in the lane I'm walking across. No biggie. I will be out of the lane and on the grass before it get's to me. Well, just as I'm walking out of the last lane and putting my foot on the grass I hear a car honk and look up an this car is swerving and coming at me. I have time to focus and in the car are three high school age boy's with giant grins on their face laughing.

At this point I'm mad. I wanted to #1 get a plate # and #2 talk w/them and #3 put a little fear and respect in them if at all possible.

Lo and behold I see them sitting in a left turn lane with their right blinker on. They must have started to turn left and changed their mind so they had to wait for all the traffic to pass before they could get away. So, I pulled up in front of them in the turn lane. Slammed on my breaks and hopped out. There eyes looked like they had seen a ghost. I'm sure they were sitting a few inches higher also. I told the driver to come see me. Needless to say he backed up and drove away. I tried to follow them but they were long gone through a neighborhood.

So, my escalation skills went out the door. I blew a gasket although there is no way I would have laid a finger on them unless they would have come at me. I was mad but in control enough to know I didn't plan on hurting them. Then I wonder would it have been self defense if they would have attacked me? If I didn't lay a hand on them but only wanted to yell at them for acting like they were going to hit me am I really provoking?

I didn't have my gun on me but what if I would have pulled and fired when they swerved to hit me? I'm sure it would have been hard to prove in court that they intended to hit me. Even if I had it on me I would not have pulled it because once I saw there face I knew they were kids playing but what if they weren't?

Anyway, it's all over and I'm hopeful they will think twice about swerving at a pedestrian again.

You are correct...with exception it could also be other pedestrians who didn't do a thing!

Which is why I'm generally against shooting drivers.
