Here's what I'd like to know:
- How many Libyan LE/mil personnel were dispatched to end the riot at the US Consulate?
- How many Libyan "protesters" were injured or killed by Libyan government personnel in the defense of the US Consulate?
Reuter's article
Witnesses said the mob included tribesmen, militia and other gunmen. Hamam, a 17-year-old who took part in the attack, said Ansar al-Sharia cars arrived at the start of the protest but left once fighting started.
"The protesters were running around the compound just looking for Americans, they just wanted to find an American so they could catch one," he said.
"We started shooting at them, and then some other people also threw hand-made bombs over the fences and started the fires in the buildings," he said.
"There was some Libyan security for the embassy outside but when the hand-made bombs went off they ran off and left." Hamam said he saw an American die in front of him in the mayhem that ensued. He said the body was covered in ash.

Now its reported we have Warships headed to the waters nearby Libya
My question is why did we have an ambassador in a compound WITHOUT MARINE protection. Who was the brain that didn't include to have them there.
they were at Bengazi but not with him in Tripoli...common sense would have precluded a strong security force accompany our ambassador in libya, its just to unsecure, it always has been.
I hope if strikes do happen that we do not repeat the errors of el diablo canyon.
I imagine the masterminds arent in libya anyway.
Libyan embassy/consulate was attacked at night and by a heavily armed group....not protestors
stand by for heavy rolls, i would imagine more is to come soon about other embassies in nearby countries with US citizens.

The latest news is that the U.S. suspects the attack in Libya may have been planned.

Not to

, but it's been 24 hours since we were attacked. Why is this still on our embassy's site?!?

Because Neville Chamberlain is still our President.

A glimmer of hope perhaps.
Try not to be too jaded when viewing this.
Telling friend from foe right now is no simple task. Measured bravery and steely resolve are required.
A dozen or so photos here from a rally in Benghazi today..

Most of the local news is saying that the ambassador and three other Americans were killed during a protest at the consulate. Sort of like there was a protest and it sort of got out of control and some Americans were killed.
Not that it was a deliberate coordinated attack on America on 9/11.
Wake up people.

You're not watching the same news channel I am... I think both Fox and CNN have been saying there's likely an Al Qaeda since early afternoonish.

Yep.
Not to mention, a random, unplanned protest by Muslims at American buildings just happened to occur on 9/11?
And its an absolute coincidence that they took down the American flag in Egypt and put up the black flag Al Qaeda is famous for using? (You know, the one with white arabic script on it: "There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his messenger".
Pure coincidence, yup.

None taken.
Serious about the occupier being a musilim? Smirking about what? That the occupier quotes the koran?
No wonder he apologizes and submits (bows) to the muslim world. How obvious does he have to get?
This plays directly to his handling of the attacks on our sovereign soil.
You may see it differently than I see it.

Sofian Kadura is an airline pilot who lives in Benghazi.
I was out with a few friends yesterday evening around 9 or 10 p.m., when we drove into the area where the consulate is located. All of a sudden, we were caught in a huge crowd, with people seemingly shooting on both sides – at the consulate and from the consulate. But it was hard to tell exactly who was shooting. We quickly managed to get to safety, to an area about 200 metres away from the consulate. My friends and I – who were all Freedom Fighters, or rebels, during the war – wanted to go back and see exactly what the trouble was, so I took my AK-47 from my car. (Today, I remain part of a volunteer brigade that ensures security in Benghazi.)
However, when we tried to get closer to the consulate, we realised that armed Islamists had blocked off the streets. They had automatic rifles, RPGs, and big machine guns mounted on cars. It was obvious they were Islamists due to their long beards. I told them I was part of a security brigade, and asked them to let me through – they refused. A large crowd of civilians had gathered, and many people tried to persuade the Islamists to stop. The Islamists were yelling that they wanted to kill everyone in the consulate. We said, “You know, there are Libyans working in there, too,” but they didn’t care – they said those Libyans should never have agreed to work with Americans. They also claimed that the consulate security fired at them first [Editor’s Note: we are unable to idependently verify this claim] – and I said, well, did you really think it was a good idea to show up to ‘protest’ with RPGs and automatic rifles?
"This is not what we fought the war for"
We stayed there until the Islamists left, at around midnight. Usually, when any big incident happens in Benghazi, those who are members of brigades receive orders over our talkie walkies from a main call centre. We received no orders. In fact, there was a brigade just down the street, but they stayed away. I was very distraught. This is not what we fought the war for. While I think the video is insulting, and should never have been made, I don’t think violence is the solution.
Today, many people in Benghazi are just as angry as me, and dislike these Islamists. But we’re in a difficult spot, because criticising them can be interpreted as being “against” the Prophet. The Islamists I talked to last night belong to a brigade affiliated with the radical Islamist group Ansar Al-Sharia, which translates to “Those Who Want Sharia” [other eyewitnesses and at least one Libyan official have blamed the group for the attack, according to the BBC]. In the past few months, it’s become increasingly powerful and well-known. Like the rest of the brigades in Benghazi, they theoretically ensure security only when the local government asks them to do so. The hospital, which was in dire need of security, recently asked for their help, and since they’ve been guarding it, there’s been no more trouble there. But when religion is involved, they seem to act of their own accord. For example, these past months, they’ve destroyed Muslim mausoleums that they deem blasphemous.
People are quite scared of them, because these Islamists seem unafraid of dying. There have always been Islamists in Benghazi, but during Muammar Gaddafi’s era, they were locked up in jail. Now, they seem to be making up for lost time. And until the government gives us orders to stop them, there’s not much we other brigades can do. However, I think they will have to be stopped soon, because what they did at the consulate went way too far.
It is interesting, some odd things caught my eye though, marked in red.
Unless I'm mistaken, and I'm not, most Muslims will usually only have a beard to the length of his fist, not generally longer.
"I don’t think _____ is the solution." This gives me deja vu back to Anti-Campus Carry Liberals who claim something isn't a solution without stating a problem.
"went way too far" I was wondering what that person's opinion of how far is enough/how far should one go to prevent another person's exercise of free speech; how much should the innocent third parties working at a Consulate be punished for an Individual thousands of miles away saying something?
"This is not what we fought the war for" That's an American way of saying ... This is not why we fought the war ... Great, our TV stations are now teaching foreigners how to speak English incorrectly as well as the hooded rap group imitating middle school kids with pants on the ground.
RPB) Violence against civilian is an Islamic Crime, in the peace as well as in war too. Those Salafists do not follow Islamic rules or ethics. They are extremists who claim to be Muslims.
Criminal acts against an Embassy is a breach of trust and Islamically is called betrayal of trust and peace bestowed on American Diplomats.
As for your questions:
1) Solution: Protesting the film or restraining the lies and slander and libel of the most beloved person for all Muslims world wide, the free speech right does not apply. If the yelling "fire" in crowded Theater is a crime, then the lies and slander is also too, no?
2) See Solution 1). Also, note under Patriot Act, just simple verbal support or providing legal advice to a "terrorist" is also a "terrorist act" punishable up to life in prison. In the eyes of the extremists, the slander and libel against our Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad is also considered like a "terrorist act", a crime.
3)Rebelling and overthrowing Gadaffi was intent of the war, not allowing and tolerating extremist group who claim to be Muslims.
I hope that I was clear enough.
Note: The said witness has expressed his feeling very well.

You all are tin foil hat wearing people, this is just more workplace violence, like the Army Soldier at FortHood,.. if you do not believe me, just ask the president, he'll tell you.
US Ambassador did not have a military presence at his location because ,, that presence would have upset the locals.....
Another State department grand idea gone wrong..... I HATE dealing with State department types.... there idiocy in security knows NO bounds... but then they cry like little kids when _______ hits the fan..and start looking to blame someone when the restrictions THEY insisted upon FAILED to allow actual security.

Well the news this morning on all the TV stations (except Fox News, I will mention that since I forgot to mention that earlier) is that Romney has messed up and injected politics into the tragedy of the death of our ambassador. Apparently he has really shown himself as not presidential material according to the news media (except Fox News).
The news has not been about a failure of Obama's foreign policy of appeasement or the lack of preparedness on 9/11 against such an attack. Even President Obama's false comment on video essentially calling Romney a liar for his objection to the embassy website posting was not even challenged. I have yet to see the newsmedia (except Fox News) even show the embassy posting, reinforcing Obama's lie. In addition, President Obama's claim yesterday morning that brave Lybian's carried the ailing Ambassador to the hospital where he died, also seems to be incorrect.
If I have to choose between freedom of speech and being "friends" with two billion people on Earth, I will choose freedom of speech.
Sorry that's my decision. I hope it's also yours.

I honestly think it's going to take a Hiroshima-level event to bring the Muslim world to it's senses. No, I'm not talking about nuking Mecca or other Muslim holy place (but I'm not ruling it out either); Just an event so shocking, so devastating to Muslims as a people, that it causes them to open their eyes and start playing nice.
