I just picked up my first AR platform rifle (larger than a .22) yesterday. I did a lot of research and decided to go with the Armalite AR10 in .308 / 7.62 . I was able to find some online in the $1200 - $2500 range, Palmetto State Armory has one for $1401.99 I found the same or very similar model locally at Ray's Hardware and Guns in Dallas for $1499.99 -
My thinking is that the .308 round will be good for all around and multi-range targets, larger game and hogs.
Now I need to get glass on it and sight it adn break it in before we go out on the 27th for hogs
