It's not clear the brands will disappear. The bankruptcy trustee will liquidate the assets which most assuredly includes the brands and trademarks, and perhaps a new operator will be able to make and sell these products satisfactorily, depending. It may be that some of the employees will find work in those new operations, after whatever delay is involved in getting things settled. The hedge funds/private equity investors lose, of course, and potentially some of the creditors will take haircuts, depending on how valuable the assets actually end up being.
This is part of the cycle of life, survival of the fittest, etc. Waste and inefficiency eventually takes its toll, sooner or later.

Is that an inherently bad thing? Was it a bad thing at Valley Forge? Tarawa? Bastogne?
This Amerruca! Long may we stand on principle even to our own detriment.
Jim

No American flag waving until the people who voted themselves out of a job are denied unemployment benefits.
If they're getting a handout, they're not standing on their principle, they're trampling on mine.
Some nerve!
I'll wave our national colors anydoggonedtime I want to. They fly at my home 24/7/365, and they always have, regardless of where that home has been, and it has been many, many places as I served my country in uniform and out for more than 26 years.
And absolutely nobody has the right to tell me that I cannot wave that flag! Nobody.

Your math teacher says 365/7=52.14286 weeks per yr. Each 4yrs it is 366/7=52.2858 weeks per year. On the average it is 52.1775 weeks per year.
Which number do you like?

My math teacher died many years ago, Beiruty. I'm an old, old man.
Good morning.

Jim,
Good news!
Your Math teacher (says from his grave) that though you were a good student in his class, your eyes where looking left and low at your BFF!

Been married to my BFF for more than 53 years, Beiruty. She earned her CHL at age 56, making a higher score on the range than did any of the 9 men at the benches to either side of her. I tip my hat to her regularly.
Just before getting "the look" I like to say that when I taught her to shoot was the first, last and only time she ever did exactly as I told her to do, with no backtalk.
