Negative. We do NOT need any GOVERNMENT regulations or laws regarding the sale of ammo, not even in jest. However, if a company that sells ammo decides to set a limit on how many boxes are sold to each customer, that is their business decision. No one has to shop at any particular establishment. Just like 30.06...I don't like businesses that post and I do my very best to honor their decision by spending my money elsewhere.03Lightningrocks wrote:All this talk of "ammo gouging" has me thinking. We should have government regulate ammo prices to protect the folks in our society who don't think about possible ammo shortages as quick as others.
There should be laws regulating how much ammo a person can buy so that a person who can't afford to buy as much when it is in supply has an equal and fair chance at ammo.
The whole free market system is just wrong!

Exactly! And this is why they don't have any ammo right now.
Follow me here for a second. Anytime there is a constrained supply of anything, the manufacture of said supply doesn't fill orders in the order he received them. He fulfills orders based on what orders he has one hand that have the highest cost.
If he only has "x" amount of product that can he can move, he surely is going to sell it to the highest "bidder." Once supply catches up will demand I think we will see Walmart back in stock.
Walmart is good a negotiating the lowest cost, mostly because of their buying power. When there is a panic run on anything from ammo to a hot Christmas toy, the person who is paying the least is going to be supplied last.
